Queen’s Park U18 2 V 3 Ayr United U18

On Thursday evening, Ayr United Under 18s travelled to Glasgow for their CAS Performance League fixture against Queen’s Park. The Honest Men won 3-2 thanks to a brace from Lucas McRoberts and a screamer of a free kick from Lewis Allan.

Queen’s Park took the lead in the game after 25 minutes when they won a penalty which they converted.

The Honest Men got a well deserved equaliser a few minutes before half time when Dylan Watret played a great ball into the box which was touched down by Lucas McRoberts before the striker slotted a great finish into the net.

The visitors took the lead of the game in the 61st minute. Great build up play by Jack Allan lead to Lucas McRoberts stealing the ball in the box before firing in his second of the game.

A few minutes later, Ayr United scored again. A free kick was awarded around 35 yards out which Lewis Allan stepped up to take and drilled it into the top left corner; a screamer from the centre back.

Queen’s Park grabbed a goal back in the 69th minute when they were awarded another penalty. A professional performance from the Under 18s in the final 20 minutes saw them ensure they secured all 3 points to take back to Ayrshire.
