Ayr United U18 1 V 0 Partick Thistle U18

On Friday night, the Under 18s welcomed Partick Thistle to Townhead Park in the CAS performance League. United were without right back Dylan Watret as he was on the bench for the First Team in their 5-0 win over Cove Rangers. Striker Max Guthrie was also missing from the squad as he suffered an injury earlier in the week.

It was all level at half time as neither sides were able to capitalise on their chances.

The first substitution came in the 65^th minute when Jonathan McPhee replaced John West. The second substitution was made in the 77^th minute when Ryan Kennedy was replaced by Brett Galvin.

Ayr United got their well earned opener when they were awarded a penalty for a foul on Jonathan McPhee by the Partick Thistle goalkeeper. Lyall Holding stepped up to take the penalty and fired it into the back of the net.

The penalty was enough to give the Honest Men all 3 points!
