On Sunday afternoon, Ayr United Under 17s travelled to the Tony Macaroni Arena to take on Livingston in the CAS Cup. The Honest Men came from behind twice to secure a point.
Livingston took the lead of the game with only 2 minutes on the clock when the ball met a few heads before eventually being headered in by the Livingston player from a few yards out. They doubled their lead 10 minutes later when their number 11 made his way into the box and slotted the ball into the far bottom corner.
The Honest Men grabbed a goal back in the 38th minute when Aaron Weir played a great ball into the box from a free kick and Adam McNally met it to put the ball into the net from around 6 yards out. On the stroke of half time, United got their equaliser. Ayr United were awarded a penalty when Jamie Hislop was fouled in the box. Brandon Cullen stepped up to take the penalty and fired it past the keeper to ensure the sides went into half time on level terms.
Livingston took the lead again 8 minutes into the second half when the Livingston players effort went in off the far post.
In the 90+4th minute, the Honest Men were awarded a penalty when Jamie Hislop played a free kick into the box where Aaron Weir was pulled to the ground and the referee pointed to the penalty spot. Substitute Kai Linton stepped up to take the penalty and slotted it into the net with the last kick of the game.
