On Friday, Ayr United Under 18s welcomed Kilmarnock to Townhead Park for their final fixture before the slpit. The Ayrshire Derby ended 1-1 after Max Guthrie’s first half goal was cancelled out by a Bobby Wales equaliser in the second half.
In the 31st minute, Ayr United opened the scoring. Shaun Donnelly played a ball into the box which was put into the net by Max Guthrie who was playing his first game since his return from injury.
In the 76th minute, Kilmarnock got their equaliser when Bobby Wales drove into the box and scored into the bottom right corner.
Ayr United now go into the next part of the season in the top half of the league. They are joined by Kilmarnock, Inverness, Dunfermline, St Johnstone and Queen’s Park.
