On Sunday afternoon, Ayr United Under 17s travelled to Glasgow for their CAS Cup fixture against Partick Thistle. The Honest Men won 4-2 thanks to braces from Jack Allan and Blaike Hay.

Partick Thistle took the lead of the game with just 3 minutes on the clock when their players effort from the edge of the box found the bottom left corner of the net.

The Honest Men equalised in the 15th minute when Jack Allan made his way into the box and slotted the ball into the bottom corner of the net. Allan scored again 7 minutes later when Brandon Cullen’s cross into the box falls to Allan who tapped it in at the back post.

In the 26th minute, Ayr United got their third goal thanks to Blaike Hay. The ball fell to Hay just inside the box and he floated the ball over the players in the box and into the net. Hay got his second goal 6 minutes later when he received the ball from Jamie Hislop within the box and put the ball over the keeper for his second of the game.

Partick Thistle grabbed a goal back on the stroke of half time when the ball was played into the box and put in at the back post.

The Honest Men were reduced to 10 men 13 minutes into the second half when goal scorer Jack Allan was shown his second yellow of the game before being shown a red card.

The 4 goals from the Honest Men were enough to see them win the game and continue their unbeaten start to their cup campaign.
