On Friday, Ayr United Under 18s travelled to Petershill Park to take on Partick Thistle in their CAS Performance League fixture. The sides drew 2-2 as goals from Lucas McRoberts and Bruce Strachan in the first half were cancelled out by a Partick Thistle equaliser in the second half.

Partick Thistle took the lead in the 11^th minute when their players effort from the edge of the box found the bottom corner.

Ayr United got their equaliser in the 22^nd minute when Max Guthrie played the ball across the box and Lucas McRoberts was there to slide and tap the ball in at the back post.

The Honest Men then took the lead in the 43^rd minutes when a corner found Lyall Holdings head. The defenders effort was denied by a great save from the Partick Thistle keeper however the ball fell to Bruce Strachan who fired an effort from around 15 yards out into the back of the net to give his side the advantages going into half time.

Partick Thistle equalised 2 minutes into the second half when they put the ball in the net at the front post.

Ayr United made their first substitution in the 61^st minute when Dylan Watret was replaced by Harry Simpson. Dylan made his senior debut the following day when he came on as a substitute in the 2-0 win over Raith Rovers.

The Honest Men made 3 more substitutions in the game with Ryan Kennedy replacing Lucas McRoberts, John West replacing Bruce Strachan and Brett Galvin replacing Shaun Donnelly.
