SCOPE AND DIMENSIONS


Ayr United FC are looking to recruit an experienced, committed, knowledgeable and highly motivated individual to undertake the role of First Team Performance Analyst within our Football Department. This position is fundamental to the long-term vision of the football club. The successful candidate will have a proven record of working successfully within the performance sport environment.

Reporting in the first instance to the Head Coach you will primarily be responsible for the implementation of all aspects of pre-match, post-match & live analysis as well as supporting the overall analysis provision for individual player and team development for the First Team.

 

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Based at Somerset Park the post-holder will be responsible for:

  • Pre-match technical/tactical analysis of opposition team, unit and individual styles/patterns of play
  • Creating pre-match video prep footage and opposition meetings

(style of play, set pieces and game-plan)

  • Responsible for delivery of video and data information on opposition

(as requested by staff and players)

  • Delivery of pre-match statistical reports
  • Live-match coding (team video & stats based coding based on club matrix)
  • Delivering live match analysis to coaches

(pre-match, at half/full-time & communication throughout match)

  • League benchmarking of team, set piece and individual aspects of performance

(e.g. statistical set piece review of ours/opponents)

  • Create and upload coaching material as requested by coaching staff/Head of Performance Analysis
  • Assisting post-match and training analysis where required

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • A valid PVG Check (this is an essential requirement & will be part of the ‘new start’ process)

Qualifications (Desirable):

  • UEFA Coaching Qualifications
  • MSc in Performance Analysis or Sports Coaching/Performance (or equivalent)
  • Undergraduate degree in Analysis/Sport

Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential):

  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of tactical knowledge/understanding
  • Ability to maintain quality and meticulous attention to detail of work under pressure
  • Ability to work under own initiative and organise time
  • Ability to interpret/contextualise and communicate data
  • Ability to demonstrate innovation to improve provision/processes
  • Good interpersonal/communication skills and professional attitude
  • Highly motivated to work in performance analysis
  • Must have a focus on self-development/reflection and CPD
  • At least 1 years experience (full-time) working in performance analysis within a high performance environment

Technology (Essential):

  • Experience using Apple & Windows hardware/software
  • Experience using Sportscode or Nacsport Performance Analysis Software
  • Experience using telestration/video editing software such as FinalCut, KlipDraw, Coach Paint
  • Competency using Microsoft Office especially Excel
