Update From Scott Brown

Head Coach, Scott Brown has spoken for the first time about the draw for the 2024/25 Premier Sports Cup group stage which has paired the club with Dundee United, Falkirk, Stenhousemuir and Buckie Thistle.

"It's obviously a tough draw when you think that all four opponents were league winners last season. But it means we have to make a fast start to the campaign and I'm happy with that. It's a hugely important season for the club. We begin at home to Falkirk. I know their manager John McGlynn really well and they play good football. The trip to Tannadice will need us to be at our best. Then it's Ochilview followed by Buckie and I'm glad that one's at home."

Scott's pleased with the signings completed so far. George Oakley, Anton Dowds, Harry Stone and Jay Henderson have all committed to the club. Paddy Reading has extended his stay at Somerset.

"It's a really competitive transfer market and I'm happy we've so far got the ones we wanted who were first choice for the positions we needed to fill. Obviously you're going to miss out at times but the squad's coming together nicely and we'd still like a couple more."

What's also delighted Scott is the success of the club's women's team in winning promotion to SWPL 2.

"That was great news that they've climbed their way up to the second tier of women's football. There are so many good things happening inside the club and hopefully exciting times ahead."
