Ayr United return to action tonight (Tuesday) when Stenhousemuir are the visitors to Somerset Park. It is an opportunity to bounce back from the side’s defeat at Brechin on Saturday and close the gap on second-placed Peterhead.

Stenhousemuir retain aspirations of making the promotion play-offs and occupy seventh place in the League 1 table, four points behind fourth placed Albion Rovers. The Warriors were defeated 5-0 away to Dunfermline on Saturday and had on-loan Celtic goalkeeper Colin McCabe sent-off for conceding the penalty which resulted in the Pars’ fifth goal.

Team News: Everyone is available for the match squad.

Ian says: “We have 9 games left in the league and we want to win as many of those as possible. Saturday was a setback as we had got ourselves back in the position of going on a run of wins so it was a very frustrating performance. There are no easy games in this league though and Saturday showed that. We need to get back to winning ways and start tonights game well, we are strong at home and want to put on another good performance.”
