Luke signs new deal

Luke McCowan today put pen to paper on a new two year deal. Manager Ian McCall said “This has been on our minds for some time and it has nothing to with his performance at Firhill on Saturday. He has progressed all season in training and the way he played on Saturday was of no surprise to us. We are delighted to get him signed up and are looking forward to seeing his progression.”

Right back Michael Hewitt and Striker Mark McKenzie have also agreed new two year deals with the first team. Manager Ian McCall said “Both have done very well this season with the reserves and will begin full time training with the first team in the Summer.”

Ellis Hare Reid is also in discussions about a one year extension as the manager feels he has made a huge improvement in the last six months.

Stuart Faulds, James Hilton and Chris Higgins have been told that their contacts will not be renewed. Manager Ian McCall said “This is always the tough part of the season and with Stuart and James we have told them that they are both capable of playing league football and they need to go somewhere where they have a good chance of regular game time.

Chris Higgins has been very unlucky with injury. He is a fantastic professional and will be a huge asset for the next 2 or 3 years wherever he goes.”
