Joe Chalmers joins Dunfermline

The Club can confirm that it has reached an agreement with Dunfermline Athletic which will see Joe make the switch to East End Park.

He signed for the Honest Men in September 2020 and went on to make 50 appearances for the Club.

Managing Director, Graeme Mathie says: “I’d like to thank Joe, his representative Scott McLauchlan and Ross McArthur from Dunfermline Athletic for the way they have handled this transfer.

We have been involved in discussions for the last 2 weeks and they have kept those discussions private which is often a rarity in football but is appreciated from everyone at Ayr United.  Joe has continued to show a level of professionalism in training and when chosen to play in matches throughout that time and we wish him every success with this move and his future career – except in our remaining league matches against Dunfermline!”
