Inverness | Match Preview

On Saturday, Ayr United host Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Somerset Park. After back-to-back defeats, Jim Duffy’s men will be looking to get back to winning ways and ensure they remain clear of the foot of the table.

After starting the league campaign with four consecutive 1-0 victories and six wins in seven, Caley Thistle have been usurped at the top of the table by Kilmarnock. Inverness make the long journey south with two points from their last three games, drawing at Raith and Partick Thistle either side of a midweek defeat at home to Arbroath.

Billy Dodds’ side sit two points behind Killie in second place.

Team News

Aaron Muirhead (illness) and Steven Bradley remain sidelined. Sean McGinty returned to training this week.

The Manager Says:

“Saturday will be another tough match but we have played the other three teams in top four in recent weeks and competed well in all of the games.

“We'll take the positives from the second-half performance on Saturday, where we played some exceptional football, but the first-half was poor and we seem to keep putting ourselves in difficult positions in games and needing to come up with a response.

“So a good start is imperative against Inverness and we have been working on that”.
