Ayr United have added another attacking option with the signing of striker Innes Cameron. The 20 year-old moves to Somerset Park on loan from Ayrshire rivals Kilmarnock until the middle of January.

Mark Kerr said: “Innes has progressed a lot in the last couple of seasons and is completely different to anything that we’ve got. There are not many big number 9s available just now so we are delighted to have been able to get one of them. Innes will add exactly what we have needed to the squad, he is strong and excellent in the air as well as being a good finisher.”

Hailing from Oban and standing at 6ft 3in, Cameron was given his senior debut by Lee Clark in December 2016 and can also call upon a successful loan spell at Stranraer during season 2018/19, where he scored 10 goals in 30 games for the Blues in League 1. Innes steps up to the Championship having made 9 top-team appearances for Killie, including a cameo in their Europa League Qualifying defeat at home to Connah’s Quay Nomads last year.
