Dunfermline match preview

Match Preview
Dunfermline Athletic vs. Ayr United
SPFL Championship
Saturday 23rd January 2021. Kick-off 3pm

On Saturday, the Honest Men travel to East Park to take on Dunfermline Athletic in the first of a double-header of games away from home – weather permitting. United have seen their last three matches postponed since the last-gasp defeat at Palmerston on 2nd January but will hope to restart their season at Dunfermline before a trip to face Dundee on Tuesday night.

Opposition : Dunfermline sit in second place in the league table, seven points behind leaders Heart of Midlothian. The Pars have just one defeat this season, at home to Greenock Morton in December. Morton were also Dunfermline’s last opponents – a somewhat drab 0-0 draw at Cappielow last Friday.

Team News : Mark Kerr has a full squad to select from with on loan defender Corrie Ndaba pushing for a start.

Mark says : “We were ready to go last Saturday and really looking forward to the game so it was a huge disappointment to actually arrive at the ground and then for the game to be called off. Unfortunately with the way the weather is at the moment there is always a chance this kind of thing can happen. The boys have been working really hard and we have just finished another weeks training that has been really competitive and upbeat. Corrie has done well since coming in and certainly looks like he will be a positive addition. ”
