Dunfermline match preview
Ayr United vs. Dunfermline Athletic
SPFL Championship
Saturday 10th April 2021. Kick-off 3pm
On Saturday, the Honest Men will look to get back to winning ways at Somerset Park after disappointing defeats against Clyde in the Scottish Cup and in Championship against Dundee on Tuesday night. United have struggled at home of late, finding the net just once in six games since putting four past Alloa Athletic at the end of January.
With four games of the regular season remaining and Ayr sitting just a point above the relegation play-off place, every point is going to be vital.
Opposition
Promotion chasing Dunfermline dropped out of the top four on Tuesday following wins for Inverness and Dundee. The Pars have a game in hand on Caley Thistle but sit two points behind the Highlanders and five points adrift of Raith Rovers and Dundee in the promotion play-off spots.
Stevie Crawford’s side played out a goalless draw at home to Hearts last time out, that match on the back of a 5-1 defeat in the Fife Derby away to Raith Rovers. Including a penalty-shootout defeat at Greenock Morton in the Scottish Cup, the Pars are without a win in their last five matches and haven’t won an away match since November.
Team News
Josh Todd misses out, he broke his nose during Tuesday nights game. Michael Moffat also misses out with a calf strain that he has been carrying for a few weeks. We are very hopeful both will be available for the trip to Arbroath next Saturday.

We need to get something out of this game. We know how big it is for both teams so we will be positive from the start. On Tuesday until the first goal we hadn't given Dundee an opportunity so we need to be like that for the whole match and be more creative. We have some really good players at this Club and tomorrow we need them to relax and play.
