Crawford & Donald sign extensions

Today we are thrilled to announce that two of our brightest and best young local talent have signed up on two and a half year deals.

Mikey Donald, 26, Joined Ayr in January of 2013 and has been a regular in the first team since then. Equally adept at playing left back or on the left wing he has also found himself in the centre of midfield. Manager Ian McCall said: “Mikey needs to have more belief in himself, we believe that with the right coaching and workrate Mikey can play at Championship level.”

Robbie Crawford came through the Ayr United Football Academy and at only 20 years old is thought of very highly by the management team. Robbie has recently come back into the first team and has won man of the match awards for his performances. A hard working, talented central midfielder Robbie is going to be a big part of the team in the push to avoid the drop. Ian McCall said: “We need Robbie to be full of confidence and fully fit and once we get that we know we have a player on our hands. Both John and I believe Robbie can play at a much higher level eventually.”
