Digital team United again

Ayr United have once again teamed up with Digital Kitchens and Bedrooms Factory Outlet to ensure the insides of Somerset Park get a new look before the big kick off.

It’s only three weeks to the huge Ayrshire derby against Kilmarnock that will launch the season.

The home and away dressing rooms, manager’s office and referee’s room are being given an overhaul thanks to the Digital Team.

Somerset’s main stand snack bar had a makeover in 2014 and they are returning to carry out more work free of charge.

Commercial manager Graeme Miller said :”I met Daniel a few years ago in Stirling and he made it clear how important it is for Digital Kitchens and Bedrooms Factory Outlet to be involved with the local community so we have kept in touch since. 3 years ago they did an incredible job on our main stand snack bar which was falling to bits yet now looks fantastic.

Now we are going to have new dressing rooms which our players will be absolutely delighted with to kick off the new season.”

The company’s Daniel Bryson said: “After hearing Ayr are turning full time and using the facilities at Somerset a lot more in the process, we were keen to improve the environment at no cost to the club.

“We’re firm believers that a successful football team can have a great effect on the town as a whole, and we’re delighted to help out where we can.”

Jamie signs new deal

Jamie Adams has penned a new deal for the 2017/18 season.

Manager Ian McCall said :” Jamie has been different class for me and you can always trust him when he plays. I hear people mention about his injuries and of course he has had some horrific luck with injuries in his career however he has played 50 games for us in the last two seasons.

There are certain types of games Jamie will be absolutely crucial for us. When you think back to the second leg of the play off final it was Jamie and Peter Murphy that carried us through that match with their mentality and strength of will.

Jamie is fantastic in the dressing room, respected by all his fellow team mates and is a hugely important member of the squad.”

Robbie signs new deal

Robbie Crawford today penned a full time deal for the 2017/18 season.

Robbie said :”I am pleased that it’s all sorted now. I have to thank the gaffer for giving me some time to think as I had a few other options however he made it clear to me how much he wanted to me to stay and with the club going full time it was an easy decision to make.

I was impressed with the signings that we have made as well. Obviously I know Moff and Geggsy as I have played with them here before and I have played against Chris Higgins so I know how difficult he is to play against.”

Manager Ian McCall said :”I am delighted that Robbie has decided to stay as there was interest at a higher level from 2 or 3 different clubs, which was no surprise to me. He has shown his commitment and we are thrilled with that. I felt Robbie was one of the best midfielders in the Championship at times last season and if it wasn’t for the horrendous tackle at Easter Road I think we would have found it extremely difficult to hold onto him.

Craig McGuffie has made the decision to take a year out of university and go full time so he has been given a full time contract on improved terms. We have very high hopes for Craig and full time training will only improve him.

We are very close to finalising the contracts for Greg Fleming and Paddy Boyle. Greg is extremely important to us and although he wont be able to commit to every training session he is going to be able to do a more than adequate amount.

Paddy is absolutely proven in this league, the last twice he has been in it he has been in the team of the year. He is experienced, great in the dressing room and would be a big player for us. Paddy would be on a completely full time basis.

We are still working on getting another couple in, finances will dictate whether that’s possible but I would certainly like to add a couple more to the squad.”
