Club Statement

With regards the game against Queen of the South at the weekend, it has come to our attention that there was instances of coin throwing and a steward being spat in the face.

This is wholly unacceptable and in no way can be excused.

We are working closely with Queen of the South and Police Scotland with a view to tracing the culprits.

Can I ask that if anyone has any information with regards these incidents, please contact me on stadium@ayrunitedfc.co.uk or via Jamie Garrett slo@ayrunitedfc.co.uk

Car Parking/Bus Parking and any on-street restrictions

It is requested that buses/minibuses drop off their passengers in Terregles St/King Street and thereafter park on College Mains road just off the roundabout with the A76 on the town bypass (adjacent to Curry’s/PC World, as the other side at Aldi is the access road to the ambulance depot and is extremely busy). Pick up should be the same location. Supporters buses including minibuses will not be allowed to park in the Arena car park.

Car parking is available in the Arena car park, alternatively there is plenty of other on & off street parking available around the stadium.

Any local roadworks etc. that may cause delays

There are no ongoing roadworks currently around Dumfries that may affect travel times to Palmerston Park. Fans should check the Traffic Scotland website at http://trafficscotland.org/index.aspxfor confirmation of any delays.

Disabled access

Wheelchair access for away supporters is on the south side of BDS Digital stand. There is a layby on King Street for vehicles to drop their passengers for flat access to the ground. Disabled parking is available on the north side of the BDS Digital Stand or at the Arena car park. The cost of entry of 1 personal assistant is included in the price of the concession ticket.

Specific advice for away fans in respect of condition of entry e.g. searching policy, unacceptable behaviour?

QOS have adopted a robust and thorough search policy for spectators entering the ground to ensure that ground rules and regulations are strictly adhered to, especially in relation to pyrotechnic devices and controlled containers. All bags will be searched and spectators presenting themselves for entry may also be subject to search. Spectators who refuse to be searched by stewards will be denied entry to the ground.

Palmerston Park is a non-smokingvenue, this includes e cigarettes and other such devices.Stewards are empowered to eject spectators who disobey these rules. No persons will be admitted to the ground who are deemed to be under the influence of alcohol. This will be strictly enforced.

All spectators are required to abide by our acceptable behavior policy.

Queen of the South FC look forward to hosting you at Palmerston and wish you a safe and enjoyable journey to and from our stadium. Further information can be accessed via our website www.qosfc.com and social media.

Ticket Queues on Match Day

We wish to acknowledge the issue of a large volume of people queuing to purchase Match Tickets on Saturday, at our match against Partick Thistle.

This was caused by a very large amount of people buying tickets close to kick-off.

We strongly recommend that tickets are bought prior to Match Day as we have very limited provision for selling tickets on the day (11am to kick-off from the Admin Office).

However, there is ongoing availability. Tickets are sold in the Club Shop during the hours of:

  • Monday – 1pm to 5pm
  • Wednesday – 2pm to 5pm
  • Thursday – 2pm to 7pm
  • Friday – 10am to 4pm

You can buy in person or by phoning through your order to the staff, who will be happy to help.

The most popular option and easiest way to purchase tickets is online, on a computer or on your smart phone, using the links published on our website for each match.

Tickets are usually available three weeks in advance of matches.

If you are a regular attendee, then it is best to create an account and from there you can purchase tickets match by match with your personal login. The online service is available 24/7.

We understand that there will be some supporters who decide last minute to attend the match and turn up to buy on the day. At this stage you can still purchase tickets on your phone as you will be sent an online ticket which will be scanned at the turnstile from your phone, with no need to go to the ticket sales point.

We endeavour to help you as much as possible with giving out information and guidance to assist and ask that you are supportive of the ticket system. Our staff took a lot of verbal abuse on Saturday and while we understand your frustration, we ask that you treat our staff with courtesy while they go about servicing the needs of every customer.

Thank You

On the eve of the new season, Ayr United would like to thank all of the volunteers who gave up their time to help during the close season and in particular our regular volunteers who have helped massively in preparing the Stadium for the new season.

Many thanks,
