Cammy to America
We can today announce that we have mutually agreed to terminate Cammy Smiths contract to allow him to move to America.
Chairman David Smith said :”Cammy came to me over a month ago to explain his situation. The plan was to sign for a club in America when our season ends but due to COVID-19, quarantines, visas etc he would need to go a month earlier than planned. Cammy is moving to America to start a new life over there and we would never stand in the way of that. He agreed that he would do everything he possibly could in the 5 or 6 games he had left and he has certainly done that. We thank him for his efforts and wish him all the very best in the States.”
Cammy said :”It is very frustrating because I signed to the end of the season and until fairly recently there was never a doubt about that. I need to go to Poland to sort Visa’s and between here, there and America there are various quarantines which we need to follow. I spoke to the Chairman and he was brilliant about it, he told me to give everything I possibly could and I feel I have done that. I want to thank the Club for everything they have done for me and I will be watching keenly to the end of the season as there has been a boost with the new manager coming in and I think we could end the season really strongly.”
Everyone at Ayr United wishes Cammy all the best of luck with his new club in America and thanks him for his efforts whilst with the Club.
David Hopkin will be looking to bring in a replacement for Cammy and we hope to have news on that later today.
