Brett McGavin is the latest to join the Honest Men as Mark Kerr has moved to further strengthen his squad ahead of tonight’s transfer deadline.

McGavin joins Ipswich Town teammate Corrie Ndaba at Somerset Park until the end of the season and will be available for the squad for Friday nights live match with Hearts pending International Clearance.

Mark Kerr said:”Brett is someone we know well having had him here on trial before. As soon as we realised there might be a way we could get a deal done we stepped things up and are delighted to get it over the line. He has a really good range of passing and is very comfortable on the ball. He has good awareness and is very much the right type that we are looking for. He has been in and around the Ipswich first team all season and will be an excellent addition to our squad.”

Brett joined Ipswich Town’s academy aged 10 and signed his first professional contract with the club in February 2019. Following short loan spells at Bury Town and Concord Rangers, he made his debut for the Tractor Boys in November 2019, starting in an EFL Trophy group stage match against Colchester United.

He has made seven first team appearances under Paul Lambert this season and in September 2020 signed a new two-year deal until the summer of 2022.
