Ayr United FC is delighted to announce the appointment of a new Commercial Manager

Ayr United FC is delighted to announce the appointment of a new Commercial Manager.

Lifelong supporter, Graeme Miller, has taken up the role with immediate effect ahead of the coming 2014/15 campaign. Many of you will know Graeme from his 30 years of following the Honest Men, both home and away, on the terraces around Scotland. His passion for the club will be a key factor in helping us drive off- field improvement as we move forward.

Graeme, from Barassie, will oversee all commercial aspects of the Club in our community and will play a major role in driving matchday activities at Somerset Park.

Graeme, 35, said: “I have walked down Somerset Road as a supporter for three decades – to be doing that now as a club employee is the biggest honour I could be given. Anyone who knows me will testify that I eat, sleep and breathe Ayr United. “My number one target is to improve our engagement with the supporters, who are our lifeblood. I will continue to be a regular face on the terraces away from home as travelling the country with Ayr United will forever be one of my greatest passions. “My door will always be open to fans for feedback, ideas and suggestions. My early meetings with both supporters and businesses has reinforced my belief that Ayr United is a Club of huge potential – and I aim to help maximise that. “Looking forward, I also want to add to the existing initiatives attracting youngsters to our games at Somerset. They ARE our future. It would be great to see our Family Stand packed full every game, and I have a number of initiatives in mind to add to make that happen.

“Engaging with local businesses is another key strand of my work. I have identified a number of exciting new advertising opportunities – such as sponsorship of our famous Somerset Road End. “Having continuous improvement is our objective going forward. We will learn from our mistakes – not dwell on them – and one thing I can assure our support of is a positive vibe for as long as I have anything to do with this Club. “Let me assure everyone, Ayr United is firmly open for business. And I send a rallying call to sponsors or advertisers – past or present – never more has your support been required. We will aim to give you value for money like never before and, as I said, my door will always be open.”

Thrilled chairman, Lachlan Cameron, added: “One of our biggest weaknesses off of the park has been connecting directly with our support. Graeme will go a long way to overcoming that. I’m thrilled that we were able to secure Graeme for the role of Commercial Manager. His work experience and background make him suited for the job and the fact that he is a recognized Ayr die hard should please the support with the knowledge that they have “one of their own” in a prominent role here at the club.”
