Ayr United Announces First Team Head Coach

Ayr United is delighted to announce Lee Bullen as First Team Head Coach on a contract until June 2024.

Lee joins having served as U23 Head Coach, First Team Coach and Interim Head Coach at Sheffield Wednesday over a 9 and a half year spell.

Lee has experience of Scottish football as a player, Reserve Team Coach and First Team Assistant Coach at Falkirk FC, in addition to 3.5 years as a player at Dunfermline FC.

He also brings experience from a variety of countries abroad as a player in Greece, Hong Kong & Australia.

Chairman, David Smith: "We are delighted to secure Lee's services, he comes with a strong pedigree in coaching from his experiences at Falkirk and also from his time at Sheffield Wednesday. I'd like to thank them for their support in bringing Lee to Ayr United. He is clearly highly respected from his time there and I am glad we were able to secure an agreement to suit both parties. Lee's previous experiences and numerous personal qualities makes him an ideal candidate for the position, especially at this time in our evolution."

Managing Director Graeme Mathie added: "I'd like to start by thanking Davie White, Tommy Tait, Thomas Donovan, Dave Timmins & Derek Stillie for all their help and support over the last 3 week period. Their hard work and professionalism gave the Board time to go through a thorough process to identify our new Head Coach.

In all our conversations with Lee, it became clear he had a great desire to be the First Team Head Coach at Ayr United and be part of the journey we want to start as a Club. He brings a variety of experiences from his time playing and coaching in a number of different countries, and he has taken on a variety of leadership roles throughout his career. We are all really looking forward to working with him and supporting him to deliver on field success here."

Lee attended training this morning and will be in the dugout for tomorrow's match against Arbroath. The Club will now work to secure Lee's backroom team and will update supporters in due course.

Everyone at Ayr United wishes Lee every success in his new role and look forward to working with him.
